What in the hell are we doing? Wasn’t this supposed to echo the year we signed Ware, Talib and Ward? Wtf

Why would it? Denver has a ton of dead salary and don’t have a solid situation at quarterback.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

yea-- that one's gonna leave a mark. . . not that i thought the broncos were interested, but seeing the chorfs get better doesn't help our cause any. . . they were always going to be out of our reach with a healthy mahomes-- if they can improve that woeful defense any, it leaves our chances of catching them at pretty much zero. . . will be interesting to see where earl thomas lands. . . i really hope JFE is finalizing a deal with amos as we speak, because after him and joyner, there's really not much left that represents any kind of upgrade at safety. . .

where did you get that idea?
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”

Denver is not in "win now" mode. They're in "compete now" mode.

New coaches, new systems, lots of holes, and no QB. Elway is actually playing this right so far. Let the crappy teams with a ton of cap overpay players, and try to add some solid second tier guys without killing the cap for the next 4-5 years.

Denver's in the position they're in right now because of bad drafting. Hopefully that began to change last year, and continues on.

Even though it sucks to see all of the rich get richer I have to agree. If we play it conservative then 2020 and 2021 cap space will be over 100 mill. Maybe we sit this one out again. I fear if we don’t do well it’s going to be very bad for Elway and I don’t want to see that.

And Klis says we're trying to get James from Miami.

This would be a win in my book...TE a hole still, but these two would be a solid FA in my book.
