Drew Lock won't learn anything from Flacco on how to run the offense. The offense they ran out for Flacco when he was the starter was tailored for Flacco's ability to look like a statue and dump the ball off for 5 yards to the RB as opposed to the roll out and make plays kind of offense run by Lock. Keep Allen as the back up as he has shown he would be well suited for that role and let Flacco walk as he obviously has already checked out on this team.

Yeah, best to move on and let JF hopefully excel in new pastures. The way of things. nbd

Unless Joe is willing to embrace the role of backup or placeholder there is literally no place in the NFL he's going to have a shot as a starter.

I’m just impressed that he actually travels with the team and stands on the sidelines. I wonder if anybody likes him.

    Wow.

This is joe mf flacco. Superbowl MVP.

Sure, dude is a shut-in and could be more vocal. But criminy.

Joe MF Flacco, Denver Broncos QB.

    Show some respect.

But yeah, looks like it's Lock's turn and Flacco is done. Thanks for the memories Joe. I'll put them on my memory wall next to Brock Osweiler.

Supplanted starters are almost never kept around the next season. The only exception that I can think of was when the 49ers kept Kaep for 2016 after he had been supplanted by Gabbert in 2015, but that was only because Kaep refused to take a pay cut that was required for us to have traded for him. If Oz hadn't insisted on being paid more then Elway was willing to pay him, resulting in him going to the Texans, then the possibility of trading him to us would've never materialized and Chip Kelly would've gone through with his original plan of simply kicking Kaep to the curb.

Other then that mess, I do remember Kurt Warner initially staying with the Rams for 1 more season after he got supplanted by Bulger 2002, but that's it. So pick another veteran journeyman that will be available in FA this off-season to come in as Lock's back-up.

Ok, how about we put the Flacco memories between Oz and Paxton. Then we ask Zach Galifianakis to host a spin-off called Between Two Giraffes. ??? Profit.

Lol - just read about 4 pages of this thread - good work Jaded, at one point you nearly had me believing Flacco woudl be good as a number 2 in Denver next year, then i remembered that he stunk it up like a number 2 this year and i can't wait to see the back of the bert and ernie quit on the team **** that he is!

I think my favourite part was the advocating for Teebs to return with a serious argument from several posters

Tell you what though - i have watched the highlights, now and that boy Lock has potential! Loved his post game comment about bringing legends back in reference to the Buzz Lightyear move - but can't believe he was born after the first toy story was released!!!
