Thread: Joe Flacco is now a Bronco

It was set up to fail. Who cares what Flacco's strengths and weaknesses are, it wasn't going to add up to anything other than another .500 season anyway. As it turned out, a couple plays here and there every game turned it into much worse. He's never going to don a Broncos uniform ever again so let's move on from beating this deceased horse...
This, right here is EVERYTHING that seriously pissed me off about John Elway and made me demand his being fired this year.

See, the Joe Flacco plan was not a sensible plan that just didn't work because Joe Flacco had the bad luck to get injured and we'll try it again next year.

It was a head-scratcher of the "either he's a genius who sees something that nobody else can see, or else he's a complete moron because from everything we know about Joe Flacco the last 5 years this just makes ZERO sense for a team like Denver."

There was no upside. This was a team that had 11 wins in 2 seasons and no obvious QB candidates, not even a young QB they were developing.

It was a BAD team. If Flacco came in and was everything Elway expected, this team would be what? 8-8? 9-7?

No playoffs. NO hope for a brighter future.

Even if somehow they built up the OL and Flacco had an even better year next year, what's the upside then?

Maybe 10 wins and a wild-card playoff appearance?

Because if that impossible dream comes true, what then?

Is there anybody delusional enough to think the Broncos with Flacco could go into Foxborough or Arrowhead stadiums in January and have a snow-flake's chance in hell of winning a playoff game?

No. But, with Drew Lock is there a chance?

See, with Drew Lock, if the Broncos did get a wild-card next year, and had to go play in Arrowhead in January they would still have a chance.

With Joe Flacco we know there would be none. You would be dreading the first time Joe Flacco was sacked or threw a fatal pick or just handed the ball off 3 times for 8 yards because they didn't trust Flacco to stand up under the rush if they tried to just drop back and throw the ball.

Broncos would be smart to keep Flacco in 2020.

lets do it. Tebow would be the perfect backup. Come in if someone gets hurt, wins you a few games. Would help young qbs in every aspect.

And he would make Drew Lock gain 100 lbs of muscle.

Even if he never played a down his motivation and leadership would be great for the team all around.

I said it would be “smart”, I didn’t say it would be popular.

Team chemistry is a real thing, Von would love it. You send the mopey flucco out the door and bring in a backup guy that can help lead if needed.

No one wants to keep Flacco around. Not only could he not help us if Lock got hurt, he's a cancer and a guy who simply only cares for himself. We've no need for a selfish loser.
