The one thing the Royals do well is steal bases...and A LOT of them. They've got some good bats and some excellent baserunners. Pitching doesn't seam to be great, but once your guy settled in last night he was throwing some nasty sliders. He's strikes out more people with his slider than anyone in baseball. Pretty impressive IMO.

I appreciate your optimism about a 90+ loss team.

They hit a lot of line drives (9th in the league) and don’t strike out much (21st in K%+)?

(I’m sorry, this is all I’ve got. I feel your pain?)

The Astros looked like the Orioles last night. WTF.

Astros getting hot again. Best winning percentage in baseball (.643) and tied with the Dodgers with the most wins (27) in baseball. George Springer and Bregman have been on a tear lately.

Springer leads the AL in HRs, RBIs, OPS, Runs scored, etc. and all from the leadoff spot. Houston has three players in practically every top 10 on offense in the American League (mostly Springer, Bregman and Brantley).
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

Yessir! Springer's inside the park homer last night was a thing of beauty.

Brantley, Chirinos, and Diaz were all such solid pickups. Miley is doing well too. He gave up more runs last night (4) than he had given up in any other start since 2017 if I remember correctly.

JV killed it last night. Granted, it was the White Socks, but another strong outing in what is hopefully another Cy Young season for the man.

Verlander is such a stud. He reminds me of Nolan Ryan with more control. His last MLB pitch will be 97 MPH.

I think Nolan Ryan's second to last pitch was a 97MPH strike, then his arm popped and he tried one more pitch but he was obviously done.

I saw a thing on FB where Ryan threw the first pitch of a game and he was in his 60s or 70s and it was clocked at like 85mph. Amazing!

He's awesome. Him being in Houston reminds me of Peyton being in Denver. Same type of scenario. Nolan Ryan is Houston royalty though.

I was on the phone last night with my Dad, and he had the Yankees-Orioles game on. He is 81, born in the Bronx, lifelong Yankees fan, He said watching the current incarnation of the Orioles takes him back to watching the ghastly St. Louis Browns teams of his youth. The Browns eventually moved to Baltimore and became the Orioles. Things have come full circle says he.

Walkoff by the Mets in the 13th. Fastball down the middle was apparently not a good idea.

I switch to another game and the Rays send a 2 run homer. It’s only the top of the 5th though.

I finally got MLB TV for the season.
