Tigers won last night. Second win in fifteen games. It was against the Orioles, so maybe we are better than them.

On a positive note, I read this today on a Tigers fan site about pitching prospect Casey Mize, who is eating up AA ball - in fact, his debut earlier this year was a no-hitter

Milton Berle was a legend in Hollywood for the size of his member, and he relates a now famous—although quite possibly apocryphal—anecdote about it in his autobiography. One day he was challenged to a literal dick-measuring contest in a sauna, leading Jackie Gleason to supposedly quip, “Go ahead, Milton, just take out enough to win.” This approximates how it felt watching Mize pitch to a Double-A lineup.
That is some fine sportswriting right there

Let’s get nerdy: MLB draft style.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Buster Posey comps for the catcher the Orioles took at 1. I’m interested to see what coach has to say.

Does anybody else love watching MLB tonight on MLBN? Harrold Reynolds and Pedro Martinez are so entertaining and informative.

The Astros game yesterday took for.ev.er. I don't remember the last time I actually watched a game go 14 innings. Granted, the game started at 2:40pm for me so I didn't see the first 10.5 innings but I did watch the last 3.5. Glad to see the Astros rebound after the 14-1 ass whoopin' they took. Altuve, Springer, and Diaz should all be starting their rehab assignments soon so hopefully they can get healthy again for the back half of the season.

I forgot which former Cub it was but one of their analysts a few years ago described how Ryne Sandberg would set up a pitcher. If he knew an opposing pitcher had a pitch that he could hammer, he'd swing wildly and miss it badly on purpose so that the pitcher would throw it again in a clutch situation and he actually had videotape of Sandberg doing the exact thing. Ryno would wait for the same pitch he looked bad on and drive it out of the park.

Nowhere else but MLBN will you find that sort of insight.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

Baseball on turf is sacrilege. Way too many colleges play on turf, it's un-American dammit.

    I agree. It's not satisfying.
