Default Adnan Virk plots ESPN lawsuit after firing over MLB leak

Fired ESPN anchor Adnan Virk is pursuing legal action against his ex-employer, sources have told The Post.

Virk was let go Friday after being accused of leaking confidential information on multiple occasions.

At present, he is receiving no severance after just signing a four-year contract worth seven figures. He had been considered a rising star at the network on baseball, college football/basketball and radio.

On Friday, after Virk was told of his firing at ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., campus, his company cellphone was confiscated and he was escorted to his desk to collect his personal items, according to sources. This is not an unusual practice when businesses let go of an employee.

This story is nuts. I've been kinda following it. He had become pretty huge at ESPN. They must have found some serious dirt to fire him on the spot and not pay him. I really want to see where this goes.

His lawyer isn't denying he leaked info, so it definitely seems like he did it. Firing without severance does seem a little on the heavier side for punishment if that's his first offense. I'm interested to see where this goes.

Actually, this is very common practice for business that have confidential info, including when I was let go by a company that is contracted to run the Department of State's Passport call center. Banks do the same thing when terminating their employees.

That sucks. He was pretty good, but they’re reducing baseball coverage to almost nil anyway. He’ll probably end up at MLBN.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

With all the movie/pop culture stuff he does I could see him ending up at the ringer.

Yeah, that’s true. I wonder with Fennessey, Simmons and Ryan being the cabal there if they want another prominent movie guy, though.

Or if he wants people to actually watch him.

MLBN is a million times better than ESPN anyway. NFLN for football and MLBN for baseball. I almost never watch ESPN any more.

ESPN's coverage was almost all-Red Sox, all-Yankees all-the-time anyway. Geez, you'd think they'd realize there were other teams outside a 50-mile radius of Bristol CT to cover. The rest of MLB might as well have been the Washington Generals to ESPN. It was pathetic.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
