Default Missy is on another trip out at sea, leaving Curacao

She going to go and splice some cables being the first woman splicer of her company. She has already gone out once being gone longer than expected (4 months) but this should only be a 3 week job. Here are some pictures she took as they just took off from Curacao.

Nice pics! Low light sucks unless you have crazy big sensor and can ISO the **** out of it.

Underwater or on land cable splicing? Fiber optic I assume?

I was on a cruise ship that stopped in Curacao years ago, but my wife had torn ankle ligaments so we never got off the boat, but I remember all those multi colored houses. Those are some nice evening shots.

Gene splicing is the impression I got. She's crafting Human/Armadillo hybrids.

The last picture could be framed and hung in your living room. Pretty sweet.

Fiber optics but at times she can deal with high voltage stuff but 90% of it is fiber optics. She was initially working as a buyer/purchaser for the company but when she got shafted out of a promotion by her boss she became interested in cable splicing which she had never done before. But the other splicers were very supportive of her move and liked that she did a lot of research on it before making the plunge into the field and have happily been there to help her out. She is the only female to actually make it through the training and continues to impress her male co-workers. She is still in the "observe" and "learn" stage as it can take up to a year or so to fully get how to do it properly but her bosses so far have been very happy with her work.

The other bonus is she gets paid 125% more than she was so the money is REALLY good.

Above water, they go around and lay new cable if needed and do repairs when needed by dragging and pulling up cable already out there. That is what they are currently doing this trip.

Last trip she was out in the pacific around Hawaii and because of the storms and ship issues they got delayed longer than expected. But she had like 2-3 days to chill in Hawaii (where she had never previously been) and got a chance to treat herself to a spa day. The company would have paid to fly me out there but i was busy with other stuff at the time but if she ever gets stuck in port somewhere for a period of time they offer to fly people's spouses/partners out to them if they want which is a nice bonus.

i can't believe she went raiding and pillaging without you!
“When we do find that guy, we’ve got to have the continuity on the offensive side to where we can train him and develop him and get him there. This is our fourth offense in probably three or four years. Quarterbacks need to be developed. You don’t find one ready-made. We got to have a solid system in place for when we do go after whatever guy it may be, a young guy or a trade or whatnot.”
