Default Texas A&M draft prospects (for Buff)

A report on Aggie draft options that fir Denver needs...because Buff wanted info on Texas prospects

    Jace Sternberger - TE
I had hoped he would have stayed another year at A&M...and he probably should have, but we recruited a 6'6" 5-star to replace him, so I'm not too disappointed. 2nd in the nation in TE receiving yards and 1st in TE TD's...but still wasn't a nominee for the Mackey award somehow. Like most TE's coming into the NFL, not the greatest blocker, but a stud as a receiver and a great route runner with great hands.

    Erik McCoy - C
Likely to be the first on of this bunch that is drafted. Should be a starter in the NFL from day one. Hard to find too many negatives with him other than not extending his arms as much as he should. Something I'm sure Munchak could fix.

    Trayveon Williams - RB
Small RB at 5'9", 200, but we know first hand what kind of success smaller RB's can have. However, he doesn't have the 5th gear you'd like to see in smaller guys, but he simply makes things happen. Led the SEC in rushing yards. If he was faster, he'd be a 1st or 2nd rounder, but likely will go on day 2.

    Daylon Mack - DT
Was a 5-star prospect coming to Aggieland, but never really lived up to the hype. He's on the smaller side for a 300 pounder at only 6'0", but it seems he figured out leverages and had a really good senior year and was invited to the Senior Bowl. His stock has been increasing with a good year and so far, he's been dominant at Senior Bowl practices. Best used as an A gap DT/NT.

    Tyrel Dodson - LB
Kind of a Swiss Army knife player in that he can be that LB/S hybrid. Has the speed to cover TE's and RB's in pass coverage, but needs to refine his coverage skills. Could be a mid-round pick.

    Kingsey Keke - DE
Played DT and DE, but gets killed by double teams, so I think his best place in the NFL would be as a 5-tech DE due to his pass rushing skills. Not great against the run, though.

    Landis Durham - OLB
Best possibility is as a situational pass rusher. Doesn't have the size to be a DE and lacks the speed to be a 3-4 OLB. Doesn't play the run very well. Possible late round pick or UDFA

    Otaro Alaka - LB
Dude plays with a ton of heart and passion and is willing to play anywhere on the field. Biggest thing that hurts him at the NFL level is his coverage skills. Limited to being a 2 down backer or ST stud.
