Mahomes will go back down to earth, and people will use it to propel Brady: "He's still so excellent after all this time. Just so impressive." Etc.

What does it tell you that both the Chiefs and the Rams think their game is rigged. The Pats are getting Clete Blakeman as their ref who fingered Brady on the deflated balls fiasco and whom the Patriots are 3-8 lifetime when he is the head referee (including an AFC Championship Game in Denver I remember). Meanwhile, the Rams are stuck with Bill Vinovich whom has presided over eight consecutive Ram losses.

So be wary of phantom flags favoring the Chiefs and Saints today.

Plus, the league may feel they "owe" a Super Bowl to the memories of Lamar Hunt and Tom Benson. Rumor was the '70s Steelers were the NFL's way to honor Art Rooney who had sunk his fortune into sad-sack Steelers for decades before that time, keeping the team afloat. The league owners think like that.
