Seriously? Elway needs to be fired because he signed Brandon Allen to be his short-term backup QB because Lock got himself hurt in the preseason on a fluke play? Should we have just stuck with Hogan? Oh wait, you’re just still butthurt about your boy “swag”. If Kelly was still here as the backup you’d be dancing around in ladies panties pimping him as the second coming while wishing openly for Flacco to bomb so Kelly could get the starting job. You have more mood swings than a menopausal woman. Are you sure all the weed you smoke isn’t laced with estrogen? Calm down, Francis.

He’s a Rams fan. He hasn’t learned to handle success with the occasional down year yet.

Did "Vacuum hose" Kelly get cut from Colts?

I just checked, he's suspended for first two games of the season for the Colts.

He's currently serving his NFL suspension for couch-gate, so the colts don't have to make a decision on him until that is up. Given that they just signed Hoyer, though, I'm not sure his roster spot is all that safe when the suspension ends.

I brought up Sloter in jest here, though if you've been following my posts, I am a fan, I won't lie. I don't want to rehash all of that stuff. But consider Brandon Allen, the guy we DID sign. Neither Allen nor Sloter has ever played in a regular season NFL game (which allegedly was one reason Sloter was cut for Brock F'ing Osweiler of all people two years ago), so if we only go by their preseason statistics, Sloter is way better than Allen. Maybe there's something else we don't know, but even if they're both scrubs, I personally would pick the guy who's actually, you know, shown some promise. I think Allen has one TD and five INT in the past two preseasons. He doesn't seem any worse than Hogan, and who knows, maybe he can improve, but it's not like we scored a guy who actually did anything so far except look halfway decent against our third stringers this year.

No no, I get that. My guess is that they signed Allen because he already knows the offense and can fill in if Flacco gets hurt. He’s probably gone as soon as Lock comes off IR.

I think they signed Allen because he would be easier to cut once Lock gets healthy.

    That seems likely.

Fangio on 7 new players since Friday: "We're not the only team that's had this roster gymnastics. It happens every year. John and his guys were keeping track of everyone around the league. We just felt that with each and every move it would make us better." #9sports

Fangio on picking up Brandon Allen as No 2 QB: "He comes from a similar system. Hopefully his learning curve will be short. We liked his ability and thought he was a good pick for us." #9sports

If OT Jake Rodgers, LB Josh Watson clear waivers - which just expired as Broncos begin their first practice of regular season - team is planning to sign them back to complete its 10-man practice squad. #9sports

Broncos now a pick 'em for week 1 at Raiders, per Westgate. Denver had been a point or two underdog since schedules came out. #9sports

I started the game week thread for the Raiders game - I've usually started these weekly in years past to keep all the notes about that game in one place. I'll try to keep up with them this year if possible:

Eh...I'm fine with Shane's pessimism. I share a bit of it. I just choose to go balls deep before the evidence of game 1 because I'm too lazy to question my life choices. Our D is super solid. There's some good stuff going on.

Really, it comes down to whether this new OC and Flacco find some magic. I believe!! But hey if you don't, that's cool.

Shane is not a wannabe Bronco fan, and neither is King or any of us. No need to call each other out for fandom.

**** that Hawg when he called out on his bullshit. Reminds me of the nonsensical Tebow fanatics.

Fan policing is garbage - especially on a small message board that gets smaller each season. If Shane's a shitty fan because he's pessimistic, or has pet players, how is he a worse fan than the optimistic fans that don't post here any more?

What do you mean? This Rams 4th string QB is a joke. Elway has a 'big-arm' fetish like some people fall into Hentai Pornhub traps. He sucks at QBs. He does. Did Tebow suck as a QB? Yes.

Ask people what their favorite non-SB season was...

    Why?

That's why some of us think he's all over the board with personnel decisions, especially at QB. It's ok to call that out. Doesn't mean you are less a fan.
