    I'm surprised Rypien and Hogan were both cut. Hope that means Lock isn't far away and they just pick someone up for a couple weeks.

    Cutting Rypien and Hogan bad move IMO. Its not like bringing in someone like Hoyer is a big upgrade and will instill confidence.

    Hoyer is better than Hogan, he just has far more real game experience. Rypien is just a casualty of being a 3rd string rookie.

    There are plenty of mediocre vets or young guys with upside that are or will be available by tomorrow. Rypien cannot be QB2 right now, which is why we're hoping to get him on the PS. I assume almost anyone we get will be better than Hogan, so why keep him around?

    Well what it proves Rypien was not insurance policy, he developmental project. I have no idea what you mean by Hoyer will not instill confidence. I would say Rypien sure as hell wouldn't neither would Hogan. Hoyer has experience with this system which makes him lightyears ahead of Hogan and Rypien, so talent wise he's no upgrade, experience with this offense he is an upgrade.

    They are indicating Lock will be designated to return.

    EDIT: Andrew Mason says Andy Janovich and Joe Jones will not go on IR.
