Thank God we got rid of Rypien and Hogan. Neither one of them should really be in the league, let alone on this team.

Eh, I never thought he’d see any real time this year as long as Flacco isn’t hurt unless we’re so far out of the playoff hunt that he gets some time late. Especially after seeing him in preseason, he’s just not quite there yet. The only way Lock sees the field this year is if we’re eliminated by week 16 or 17. Then he might get the start or at least some significant playing time. Flacco wasn’t brought in to earn $18 mil and ride the bench while Lock struggles learning on the field this year.

Expecting to see Lock this year was wishful thinking. He’ll be back at the halfway point and will probably be the backup, but Flacco will play out this year at least. Next year is a different story.

Disagreed. Hogan clearly wasn't going to be able to win games if we had to go there. If our coaches have history with other guys that offer more than Hogan then you pull the trigger

I agree, though it's certainly possible that Flacco gets hurt at some point. I just wanted Lock to be there on the sidelines every week and go through practice as if he were starting. That's the next best thing to actually being there. I worry that he'll be out of the picture and fall behind as he rehabs this (seemingly minor) injury. I don't think he can practice until right before he can come off IR, and he needs reps.

Lock can still learn while being on IR. Study that playbook kid.

Not Bronco related, but how about the weird day the Texans have had? Dolphins further their tank for Tua plans:

Blockbuster: The #Dolphins are trading franchise LT Laremy Tunsil and WR Kenny Stills to the #Texans in exchange for a huge package of picks, including a first-rounder, sources tell me, @MikeGarafolo
    , and @TomPelissero
. The moves are contingent on players passing physicals.

So here’s the major components of the deal as of now, but it will be bigger....

    Texans get: OT Laremy Tunsil

Dolphins get: two first-round picks and one second-round pick.

And there will be more involved.

Off the top of my head, I don’t know where that ranks in draft-pick compensation in one trade in recent history. Certainly more than Khalil Mack and Odell Beckham. Granted, two players involved but for a team to give up that much draft capital is a win for the #Dolphins.

Let's hope so. Elway is surely counting on that, based on his presser. I just think it's not the same as actually going through the motions.

Now, cue the photo of Lock in the cold tub with the iPad:

It sounded like you were saying it's given that he couldn't be the starter next year as well.

Don't remember seeing a week 1 practice schedule quite like the one Vic Fangio designed for Monday night game at Oakland:
    Sunday: Off
    Monday: 2-4 pm
    Tuesday: Off
    Wednesday: 1:45-4
    Thursday: Off
    Friday: 1:45-4
    Saturday: 11:35-1:25
    Sunday: Walkthru/Travel
    Monday: Raiders

I understand he’s another “depth” signing, but we could do better.
Manti Teo is sitting out there.

Klis says Lock's being put on IR so we literally have one QB right now, we're going to be signing or trading for someone.

I'm kinda shocked, but at this point, it's not like he's taking up a roster slot since he's on IR, they can try again next season.
