I didn't realize Stafford is only 30. He seems like he's been around forever. Between the SEC and Lions, he has gotten beaten up over his career. You'd need a QB whisperer for him in Denver, but he does have the tools to succeed.

Stafford would be the best quarterback not named Manning we’ve had since Elway retired. We’d be stupid not to make a run at him.

I have strange feeling it will take two 1st and something else. Stafford would get Denver a legit QB, but I don’t think its worth the cost. If it was Alex Smith type deal I would do it in second, but Detroit doesn’t have young stud QB that they want on the field.

I used to think i would want Stafford a Bronco but he is way to inconsistent as a QB and turns the ball over a lot. No thanks.

It would be a fun experiment at least. A QB with actual talent...imagine that.

    Get it done Elway.

Jim Bob Cooter HC, Matthew Stafford QB.

    But...

While Stafford said he had not heard or read about any trade rumors, he made it clear he would like to stay with the Lions.

"I think there's something special about a guy getting a chance to play his entire career in one place," Stafford said ahead of Sunday's season finale at Green Bay. "Not many guys get to do that these days. I would love to be one of those guys."

DT wanted to spend his whole career in one place. Sometimes it doesn’t matter.

If we outright cut Keenum we eat 10 mill in dead cap.

If we trade him we will still eat 3 mill.

However IF the Lions did trade for a pick plus Keenum then that saves them Staffords contract. It would generate alot of cap room for them. Remember the Browns and Texans deal? Didn’t the Texans give up draft picks to get their cap space back? So...I don’t think it’s too far fetched of an idea but we will have to move a first rounder I believe.

Keenums contract could hamper everything and my gut says we will have to go with Keenum another year.
