Let’s send the raiders out of Oakland with a fat L. This most likely will be their final game ever in that stadium.

There is ALWAYS something to play for as an individual. Your livelihood could literally be riding on what you do today. Today.

The ship has sunk, the team goals are gone, only pride left as a rally point. You KNOW there are big changes coming, no guarantees other than that...

You fight for yourself, you fight for your teammate, your brother, and you know that what you do today will effect tomorrow and everyday thereafter.

Kill it, Elway will keep you or another team will decide they need guys like that on their squad. Loaf off, you'll probably be out of a job and that will be what other teams see, a guy that wouldn't fight when there was nothing left to do BUT fight.

It's not hard to tell a poor play call or scheme from lack of effort.

There's ALWAYS something to fight for.

I was made aware that Gruden is gonna purposely lose this game for draft position. He doesn't hate the Broncos enough to beat them. He's over being pissed off the Broncos won the last time.

I think this game is basically a coin toss.

Meh, i want to win tonight for Top but man we really need to work our way into the top 10 at least. Hopefully the Chargers come to play next week.

Thanks to the KC loss, the Chargers could still win the division, so they'll be playing their starters for a while at least. If they get word that KC is blowing out Oakland, though, they might pull back.

Following your mindset, why would the Raiders want to lose their number 2 spot? We'll see if Gruden really hates the Broncos, and has his team ready to play. Or, he is more concerned about not losing his draft position. Broncos will go into Oakland playing to win.

I don't think coaches or players ever try to lose. That would be stupid on their part as it makes them look worse to other teams when trying to get their next job. Tanking is done more on an organizational level in how they structure the roster.

Problem is its against the NFL rules to purposefully tank. Like you can be penalized by the league for doing so even though it can be difficult to prove. So on some level Gruden has to make sure that his team is trying to win the game regardless of where they are in the draft currently.

I thought they had 1 more season after this in Oakland.

The Raiders may have be sitting on the #1 pick, and the 49ers were sitting on the 2, before they both won. The Giants entered December just 1 game out of the 1st pick & they started off with an upset of the Bears, then they rolled the Redskins.
