It's not all talent though. Sure, talent wins...but desire is easy to ignore, hard to identify. Guys like Al Wilson, Ronnie Lott, guys who would die for their bros almost literally. For some it's just something they do, something they are good at.

Todd D feels like he's got a lot of the latter, but isn't the most talented tracklete.

It’s not all talent for the Denver Broncos, clearly, it’s slmost as if they’re looking/seeking stiffs.

Still, to this day, almost 9 years into Elway’s tenure, can’t ******* cover a TE.

Focus on 2nd and 4th round picks, you could literally take any of these LB’s (except Deion Jones, Miles Jack) and still get Adam Gotsis in the 4th. Fact is, they possibly believed Todd Davis was a better player, they were wrong.

Keep in mind, Brandon Marshall was scheduled to become a FA too ... yet ... Todd Davis.

my favorite al wilson memory was the way he stepped up before his contract year. . . it was so important to him to earn it that he organized dinner meetings for the entire defense every week, and paid the whole tab himself. . . dude was a born leader, a true baller, and a class act all the way. . . best true LB (not hybrid edge rusher) to wear the orange and blue since the days of meck and gradishar. . . LVE is like a bigger #56. . . that guy would have been a sweet pick if he was still there in the second. . . ain't complaining about sutton, though. . .

Mecklenberg was a hybrid. He was drafted as defensive end and eventually moved to linebacker.

yea, i know-- but he was a total package LB who was completely comfortable playing inside, as opposed to a true edge guy like a von or simon fletcher. . .
