Default Raiders targeting pair of golf courses to build stadium in Vegas

    http://www.golfdigest.com/story/nfls...social_twitter

Las Vegas, inasmuch as it’s principally a gambling town built by losers, would seem a good fit for the Oakland Raiders, who are threatening to move there. The Raiders haven’t had a winning season in 14 years.

But will they have to take down a golf course to do so?

Two of them are listed as potential stadium locations, including one, Bali Hai Golf Club, on its list of four primary sites under consideration, according to the Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

That's too bad, Bali Hai is a beautiful course, they will probably get rid of the taylormade (old callaway course for us old people) place as well. Unfortunately that is probably the perfect place for a stadium as its just down from the casinos and airport and right off the freeway. They could put it down on the other end at the Riviera area but it would be farther away from the freeway and the roads aren't as big.

I thought the site was already picked out. They had one where a casino had been torn down right off the Strip, I thought.

Funny intro to the story, though.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

That first sentence will go down as one of the great pieces of literature in sport's history.

Four is how many downfield completions Carr will have in a typical game.

I would love to make fun of a Raiders QB but then I remember the Broncos have Sanchez

Why wouldn't he? Everyone wants to play for a winner at some point in their career.

Default $750M in Tax Dollars OK’ed for ‘Las Vegas Raiders’ Stadium

A deal to build a new domed stadium to entice the Oakland Raiders to move to Las Vegas is only one step away from final approval.

A Nevada oversight committee has approved the investment of $750 million in tax funding for a new stadium to be built in Las Vegas, CBS Sports reports.

Well, I guess we should be ready to have a game in Vegas each year. Won't be many playoff games there..
