Default Saints sign receiver Brandon Marshall

The New Orleans Saints went from a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver to a six-timer Monday when they signed veteran Brandon Marshall to a one-year deal to replace Dez Bryant.

Sean Payton confirmed the signing on Monday.

When asked what he liked about Marshall's workout, Payton said, "He moved around well. He's smart, he's experienced, he's someone that's been in a number of systems. And overall he had a good workout. He's got good length and size. He's another big target."

Not a horrible signing but probably not as impactful as Dez would have been had he stayed healthy.

He at least gives them a big body in the red zone.

If any team can get something out of Marshall, that's gotta be the team.

I was perplexed about why Seattle released him. He had a couple good games to start the year.

He did start well but got outperformed by a guy who was a late round pick/practice squad type.

He was reported to be physically limited after he got a little knicked up.

He could be a great possession receiver/RZ Threat if healthy. I am quietly always rooting for the Saints as my "other" team so I hope he does well.

Im not necessarily rooting for the Saints but i will root for Brees. He is a great QB and a great guy all around to boot.

The NFC is interesting. I like Zimmer and Cousins, so I want them to do well.

But, Brees is easy to root for.

However, L.A. is probably the easiest team to root for (for me) as it's...well..L.A.

I just don't want a ******* New England SB appearance.

Its just kind of surprising how many pts the Rams defense is giving up though. They have a lot of talent there with Wade but man the last few weeks they have really had to dig deep down to pull out wins.
