Maybe he'll go somewhere that might even use him. I hope so. He's not a bad back. 1000 yards last year and on the field for 9% of the snaps this year.

It’s not anything he did. I wouldn’t take McCaffrey off the field to play Anderson much either. McCaffrey has been much better than I thought he’d be in terms of handling the whole workload of a running back.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Agreed! There are a few teams out there that can use him. 49rs make most sense. He won't be Unimployed for long.

Jets make more sense due to need to develop Darnold. Kubiak's old right-hand man Dennison is there as running game coordinator, so a waiver claim makes sense.

I totally forgot about him. Had no idea he was in Carolina.

I don't think that happens. I don't believe anyone claims him or they will be responsible for his contract.
I think he clears waivers and signs with the best fit at a lesser cost.

I thought contracts were voided once someone cuts them.

If he's claimed on waivers it's at his current contract. If he clears waivers, then a team can sign him for whatever.

    From article -

Anderson did not ask for his release, a league source told ESPN.

In a corresponding move, the Panthers signed free-agent running back Travaris Cadet to a one-year contract.

He isn't owed that much, and only the remaining funds count against the team's cap for the year. I have a hard time seeing a guy of CJ's talent going unclaimed when several teams have been hit with RB injuries. I expect at least 5 teams to place claims, if only to keep him off a rival.

Can he throw? Can he coach? Let's get him.
