Oh man this is such a good one. This is going to be very hard for me.

    Signs

    War of Worlds

    Pandorum

    A Quiet Place

    Prometheus

Star Wars, Star Trek, Predator and Alien series I can’t put on this list because I feel like they aren’t stand alone movies. The only one I feel like was a stand alone was Prometheus even though it’s tied to Aliens.

Idk..I might have to update this at a later time. SciFi in general are my favorite movies so there is too much to choose from.

Oh man, A Quiet Place...forgot about that one. That's a solid #5 for me.

I will also exclude Star Wars and Star Trek movies but for the sake of the conversation, Treks II, IV and VI are the best. I also eliminated superhero movies, otherwise Superman II would be #1 on this list. And I eliminated Godzilla movies because I'm embarrassed to put them on my list. So with that said, here is my unconventional list. These are not in order.

    Starship Troopers
    The Fifth Element
    Men in Black
    Arrival
    Independence Day

Special mention of my favorite alien film as a kid, Explorers.

I couldn’t include the 5th element because it is more of a space epic and not an alien movie.

Thought about putting that one at the back too.

That's where I struggled with this one.

Spaceballs is one of my favorites. But is that an alien movie? No, it's really just a parody of Star Wars, which itself isn't really an alien movie but what you just said, a space epic.

Yeah. Like, I mean, we needed some direction.

All he had to say was something like "the alien is mysterious and novel" or something like that. Or "scary alien flicks". But decisions like these are made way above my pay grade.

Not a movie, but The Newer Battlestar Galactica was great. I'd put it as #1 regardless of tv show or movie.

    Starship troopers
    Netflix Lost in space
    Aliens
    Indy day.

Like I said alien movies list are kind of hard to make. It’s just too broad compared to vampires, werewolves and mummies etc. Plus wayyy more movies have been made about aliens.

But I kind of am drawn to the horror/suspenseful alien type of movies more than anything. Most of your guys list is too cheery/kiddy for me. . I don’t enjoy alien comedies, I like a mankind versus some evil s*** that is trying to destroy the planet type movie. Otherwise it’s just kinda meh.

Mars Attacks is a cinematic masterpiece Scorsese could only dream of creating.
