Lets get some things clear here because the whining has just got to stop.
1) Both teams had 12 fouls called on them so from an official standpoint the officiating was consistent for both teams. You can argue whether they were too lax or not hard enough but you cant argue it wasn't fair for both teams.
2) UVA outscored Auburn 6-1 in the final 17 seconds. If Auburn had put the game away before then the double dribble and foul on Guy would be a non-issue.
3) Before Ty Jerome's double dribble Auburn guard Bryce Brown grabs Jerome's jersey which by the rulebook is a FOUL but did not get the call. Maybe UVA should start complaining about that.
4) Auburn fouled a player for NM in their opening game of the tournament but lucked out that the fouled player missed 2 of the 3 free throws which gave the Tigers the win. But it shows just how poor Auburn is at fouling players at the buzzer.
5) Auburn was 9 of 31 from beyond the arc. Let me say this again, they were 9 of 31 from 3 pt land. Maybe they should have concentrated on more of an inside game and put UVA in foul trouble instead of settling for 3's that they simply were not making.
At the end of the day it was two teams battling their asses off in a game of the ages. But the excuses and whining need to stop, no one was robbed and the officiating was consistent for both teams. I get it, its a tough way to lose but claiming that Auburn was robbed or that UVA should forfeit their game is completely and utterly ridiculous.
Show some better class Auburn, you are better than that.
Lets go UVA! Lets finish this.
My stomach is in knots right now with butterflies galore. Lol
Going into OT, not sure my heart can take this.... lol
UVA!!!!!!! National Champions!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So Jerome and Hunter were already going into next year's NBA draft and now Kyle Guy has stated he is entering as well. Guess we will be rebuilding somewhat next year. But this year was worth it so good luck to those guys on the next level.
Coach K is learning that just because you get a loaded team doesn't mean you'll win it all. Interesting how Coach K gets a pass for being a recruitment guy now.
