What? So the Lakers should not acquire other talent because James is starting to age. That makes little sense.

Now now I didn't say anything like that little one.

Is Vegas saying the Lakers are now the favorite to win the Championship next year?

    I would bet against that.

If that’s not what you meant you should have worded it better.

There were Vegas handicappers that had the Lakers as the favorite before the trade.

Addition: Westgate is the word I’m searching for.

Best odds at 7-2. I wouldn't touch them at 15-1. This team finished 8 games below .500. Adding a great, although slightly injury prone AD while giving up a young core (not even counting the picks) no way should make them anywhere close to the favorites. Now, if they add a premium PG to play the Wade/Kyrie role and get some shooters, then maybe. Right now? Lol.

    But...J.J. Reddick/Harris might happen.

I think those odds assume that they are going to add another piece.

It's pretty crazy that the Lakers seem in way better shape for this season than the warriors now.

I disagree. AD is going to resign, and having a star in his prime is a good way to get more talent, which makes for a great future. Also, Ingram has blood clot issues, Lonzo is limited as a shooter, and Hart is going to be a nice player, but not a great one. Draft picks aren't as valuable in the NBA as the NFL because there are far fewer star players each draft in the NBA.

The Lakers can either try to get a third star (it will be hard because of the trade date) or build out a well-rounded roster. Guys like J.J. Reddick, Tobias from Philly, etc. The fact that they kept Kuzmo, the man with the most synergy with LBJ is pretty good.

In order for this trade to be worth it, AD has to resign and the Lakers have to get a ring out of him at some point. Will that happen? I don't know. But I'd rather have him.
