Thread: NFL Fires Ref

    Default NFL Fires Ref

Remember that missed false start on Okung in the Chargers/Browns game?

I remember watching it on Redzone and thinking what the hell?

That was just such an egregiously missed call it almost makes you wonder if something fishy was going on with that ref. And maybe the NFL found out about it hence him being straight up fired so abruptly. I've never heard of a ref being fired in the middle of the season. I want to read more about this.

I don’t want to make excuses for the guy, I don’t believe this was based solely on that call, but sometimes the wing guys are looking at something else, helping a guy get lined up, or they’re blocked by the WR and they miss stuff. It’s happened to me and I didn’t see it until I saw the film later. I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but I see how it’s possible. I’m certainly not on his level, but I understand how it could happen.

Have you ever heard of a ref being fired midseason?

That's what makes me wonder what the whole story is here. Either this guy was just historically bad at his job or something fishy was going on.

So, there's now a job opening at the NFL level, are you going to apply?

If you made it to the league we would start a SpikerForums and tailgate at your games dressed up as Foot Locker Guys.
