That is why I appreciate the Broncos right now and their ability to ignore the offense friendly new league rules and somehow miss on key redzone possessions or simply take bad calls despite all the success they could be having.

i blame fantasy sports and gambling on games being illegal.

Now everyone gambles on fantasy sites.

So its all about the numbers. i dont believe safety of the players has a thing to do with it.

QB's are obviously developing evolutionary traits making them better able to adapt to rule changes and the fast twitch muscle fibers and neural relays required to play at such a high level.

It's just Darwinism. But super fast.

There's always more offense during the first half of the year and things start to level out once the tempartures get cold.

Every year in September/early October everybody complains about too much offense. By December we might be complaining about too many low scoring boring games.

Though it's hard to ignore the NFL has been trending to more offense. Ratings are back up, so those who don't like the NFL's trends seem to be the outliers.

Anyway, don't overreact, defenses will adapt in a year or so, they always do...

    Cool.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Numbers are back up. Yeah, I would like a little more defense. I think holding calls need to be called more frequently, and good lord the stupid pick/OPI calls need to be called more often, too.

True, but the game already has to many stoppages.

Offset this a bit by allowing a little more contact via DB's onto WR's. IDK. There needs to be a bit of a balance. But, you're right. If this is the final product we're left with than hey, it's still fun and still a watchable product.

It's called evolution. The game will always evolve whether we like it or not. Today's changes are no more unique than 30 years ago.

Back in the day the rules often heavily favored the defense. But, things can swing too far one direction is all I'm saying.

Every modern sport that can is basically guaranteed to skew rules to favor scoring over time.

I like football better when scoring a TD is actually an accomplishment.
