Well, you can. Pewter, barkwood, weathered wood, goatsheather, absinthe, cherrypine, you name it. I made those up but I bet at least one of them is real. The roofer--and maybe he missed an opportunity in life as a salon or day spa guy--pointed out how the pewter would clash with the tone of our bricks. So I think I'm good.

I don't know what that was. Either genius or madness.

*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

A profound question. I'd like to think one has maniacal laughing, while the other is more like maniacal giggling.

Our HOA has a strict color ordinance for roofing colors (and materials). You should see the arguments on the neighborhood HOA FB page about the "roofing Nazis".

I never understood how much power a HOA had until I got to property in my second semester.

    It is...mind-numbingly stout.

All that power and yet still some of the most useless organizations ever.

Stick with something that fits the era of your house. I went with a barn red color mixed with black. It’s cool and matches the era my house was built in (early 80’s).

    Random complaint...

If it doesn't stop raining I'm going to have to put pontoons on my house and declare my backyard as a protected marshland.

Dallas annual average rainfall - 37.5 inches
Dallas 2018 rainfall to date - 47 inches (doesn't include the 3 inches expected today)
Dallas rainfall over the last 8 weeks - 27.9 inches

You're not the only one expecting 3 inches today.

You got a boyfriend in town?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. You probably meant rain.
