    He will slowly get up and look at the lineman who can't block the Denver pass rush. He'll be mad at them, but deep in his heart Flacco will realize that he is, was, and forever will be an average QB. The bruised ribs and busted collarbone will pale in comparison to the shattered psyche that emerges from deep within. This was supposed to be his year, he says. But he never really had a year. He was present for Anquan Bolden's year.

    Flacco will retreat to the mansion his ill-earned salary paid for. It will feel less like a home and more like a sarcophagus for his career. Ash in his mouth, he can't even look forward to growing out his unibrow. Von Miller didn't beat the snot out of him; reality was just as painful as the best pass rusher in the league.
