Default Derek Carr to be traded?

Dont know if you guys saw Grudens comments today, but shannon sharpe was saying there is rumours he wants to get out of Carrs contract next year as well.

And today Gruden basically threw Carr under the bus in a conference about having wide open receivers.

    thoughts?

    Jon Gruden: Stupid.

This is kinda my thought as well. While it's fun to pile on Gruden, Carr might not actually be good.

I saw a stat during pre-season. I think it was that Carr if the first QB in NFL history to have 20+ TDs in each of his first four years. So, he's not bad. That said, I think the jury is still out in terms of whether he's really would I would consider a franchise or top tier QB. The year he got hurt, when McCoy was the OC and Musgrave the QB coach, I thought he was on his way to becoming a top tier QB. However, since his injury and the change in offensive staff, I'm not so sure about him.

I thought Carr was the whole reason Gruden became the HC of the Raiders?

The Rams will make a lot of good quarterbacks look bad this year. I would hope Gruden is smart enough to see that

He's had multiple good seasons, so while I don't think he's a future HoFer I think he can be an asset to a NFL franchise. Carr hasn't been the same since he was injured and part of that is due to the fact that Oakland's offensive line is declining. He's also lost some offensive weapons. I think he's the type of guy who can overachieve a little bit in the right system.

I think hes immensely talented, and the guys around him are not. I also think the Rams have the talent to make any quarterback in the league look bad.

This could very well be correct, Al.

I like Carr quite a bit. He is better than what we have (Kelly TBD). I do have high hopes for Kelly but for the moment he is not as good as carr.
