He’s intriguing, but I doubt he’d make the move to the NFL. He controls everything in that program including media access, which he restricts heavily. He couldn’t do any of that in the NFL.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

    Intriguing potential firings:
    John Harbaugh (If fired)
    Bill O'Brien (If fired)
    Mike McCarthy (If fired)
    Jay Gruden (If fired)
Nobody on the street piques my interest, because Elway would have just fired VJ if "our guy" was available. John Fox is not a possibility, given how his exit went down, but this team does badly need someone to come back in and restore toughness and discipline.

    Intriguing coordinator to HC prospects:
Pete Carmichael Jr. OC of the Saints. Could be the next Nagy. Saints O looks amazing.
Vic Fangio of the Bears. Could be the next Rex Ryan/Mike Zimmer. Bears D looks amazing.
John DeFilippo OC of the Vikings is hyped up right now, but I'd like to wait to see how the season plays out.
Teryl Austin DC of the Bengals. He got a lot of HC interviews in the past as Lions DC. I'd like to see how this year plays out.
Jim Schwartz DC of the Eagles. Yeah, he's a retread, but his defenses play tough.

    College coaches:
David Shaw of Stanford. Not his best year, but talent to Stanford is not always consistent due to high academic standards.
Kirk Ferentz of Iowa. Has an NFL background, and consistently coaches his teams to perform above their talent.

Gruden is awful. His QB's hate him, his scheme is already becoming outdated, his best players always leave in free agency. He is the stupid brother. I...he hurt me before, UA.

He said John not Jim, though I’m not sure why he would be fired

Right now, Jay is the better Gruden. But yeah, no on him.

No to McCarthy as well. He’s been there forever with one of the greatest QBs of all time and does nothing with him besides ask him to carry an entire team every year. He wouldn’t have that luxury here

If Ravens miss playoffs for the 4th consecutive year, it is definitely a possibility. Although, it seems more likely that they just part ways with Flacco, who I'd actually also really love to have.

I hate you for even suggesting that! That's a wet dream right now after what we have seen

John Harbaugh would be the dream scenario - but the Ravens look like a playoff team... McCarthy is one of my least favorite coaches in the NFL - he plays John Fox ball - coaches not to lose. O'Brien and Gruden are both underwhelming retreads who don't bring much fresh thinking.

The way the league is headed, because of rule changes, towards more college-oriented schemes that emphasize speed & space -- I think it'd be a mistake to hire some also-ran defensive coordinator or an older head coach who is into conventional wisdom... Gotta stay ahead of the curve with an innovator.

Yeah, because he sucks. I have no interest in the loser head coaches from other teams. We have our own, thanks

Well, Elway could have signed Kyle Shanahan but he choose Joseph instead. . . .
perhaps it was all those great Wednesday practices he always ran. . . .

this really cannot be emphasized enough. . . if we go out and find the next jeff fisher or lovie smith, we are f*#%ed hard for the foreseeable future. . . going with a conservative HC is just an open invitation to also keep running sorry-ass game manger, scrub quarterbacks out there. . . evolve or die. . .

Yeah, I'm not real excited about a list of guys who could be fired...

We should do a Tampa/Gruden style trade for shanny Jr, and just put right what we should have done all along.
