Thread: Coaching Options for 2019

Looks like it's down to two:

Report: John Elway is choosing between Vic Fangio and Mike Munchak.

Mike Klis of 9News.com reports that Broncos G.M. John Elway “appears to be deciding between” Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak.

    Bill Williamson:

"The Broncos went from one of the more attractive organizations in the NFL to one in total disarray. McDaniels will go down as one of the most reviled figures in Denver sports history".

    La Fleur
    Di Filippo
    Jim Bob Cooter
    Schwartz
    Fangio
Gus Bradley (that dude can coach and had a dumpster fire in Jacksonville)
Chudzinski (waiting to be mocked, but i thought he was not looked after well in Cleveland)
Wisenhunt (i like his offensive mind and think he is worth another look)
Jim Harbaugh (i love me some khakis)
    James Franklin
    David Shaw

The one i wanted us to take a run at more than any was Bieniemy

Now, all of the above said - i am the one that thinks the interview is over rated, so using my logic, it is possible, Elway did look at all these coaches and their "body of work" did not meet his criteria and they were therefore ruled out during the season and the only ones left on his list were the ones he asked to interview.
Id love Chudzinski but the Broncos are ill-equipped to run an Air Coryell (poor pass protection/power run blockers and a bed wetter at QB) and the Broncos are anchored to WCO.

A few people here saying interviews dont mean too much.

Id like to know how many interviews those same people conducted themselves because interviewing is a very important process.

VJ was allegedly a good interview, its how a guy who never shouldve got the job in the first place got it.

I think it's only me saying this. I'm not saying they don't mean much, I'm saying in the context of hiring a coach, they should not carry as much weight as other metrics

I also think you then made my point.

If we had to choose between VJ and shanny based on their experience in the league and what they have achieved, shanny would have got the job. Instead VJ interviewed well.

I think VJ was predetermined before he even interviewed. I think Kubiak pushed really hard for him (as he did to be his DC before Cincy blocked it) and Ellis supported it so Elway went along. He fact that Ellis is intentionally staying out of the main interview process and only conducting sideline interviews on occasion means Elway probably told him that VJ was as much his fault as anyone and to stay out of the coaching search this time (after all, Ellis hired McDouche too).

And, OMG! They adapted and learned! Old people can adapt and learn. Well, "old" in your mind.

    Stop being such a baby.

I checked my posts from yesterday, and never once mentioned you.

    Too many Munchaks.

You truly just like to pick at people and can't leave well enough alone.

    Wait. When did you adapt?
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.
