Default Zane Beadles released by Niners

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- After losing his starting job to Laken Tomlinson before last season, offensive lineman Zane Beadles lost his backup job on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.

The Niners announced Monday that they released Beadles after he spent two seasons with the team. General manager John Lynch indicated that the 49ers let Beadles go now so he can maximize his opportunity to find another job. If not, the Niners could bring Beadles back later on if a need arises.

"Zane is a consummate professional and has represented our organization with exceptional class," Lynch said. "He is an unselfish guy who stepped up in a big way for our team last year, and we can't thank him enough for all his contributions to the organization and our community. Zane is just the kind of player and person we would always be open to welcoming back down the road, but releasing him now provides ample opportunity to find the right situation with his next team. We wish him and his family all the best as he moves forward in his career."

    To paraphrase the press release:

"We're cutting Zane Beadles right now because he nothing but dead weight with no trade potential. However, he's a great guy"

Doogie’s 2nd round pick lasted a hell of a lot longer than he should have. I hate underdogs.

Default Zane Beadles released by Niners

The Beadles, John, Paul, George and Zane were once on top of the world but now they are largely forgotten. Past their prime. Zane's classic "I am the Wal-Mart" was considered a masterpiece that spawned a successful string of low-budget stores some 20 years later...

He also took a C in the 3rd (Lol) that year, JD Walton, you’re probably confusing him for a 6th rounder because he was a 6th round prospect.

And to think that was his best draft.
