Default Former First Lady Barbara Bush has passed

Mrs. Bush passed at home surrounded by her husband of 73 years, President George H.W. Bush, and the rest of the family.

Rest in peace Mrs. Bush, my heart goes out to the Bush family with the loss of their matriarch.

May her family find solace; may she rest in peace.

GHWB will probably not make it to 2019. They were married for 73 years. I'm not saying that to be rude or morbid, it just seems like human nature. When people have been together that long and one passes the other is not typically far behind.

It's sad, but man, her and HW were married 73 years. I feel terrible for him at this moment, he probably feels like hejust died. But I also have to feel like she was extremely fortunate. She was married to the love of her life longer than many people live.

I never realized she was in such bad shape. Based on the last few years I would have expected her to be the one still here. RIP.

I liked her, seemed like a no nonsense principled lady.

I saw a chart many years ago about the stress a life-changing event has on one's health and how it can lead to unexpected death.

Loss of a loved one was at the top of the list followed by loss of a job, loss of a home, etc.

This might be the event that pushes GHWB over the edge himself.

Two less votes for Hillary in 2020.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

Longest married President and First Lady, I believe.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

I don’t think that’s morbid. There’s merit to what you’re saying. If I was his son I’d be concerned because of that, and how old he is. I don’t think his health is all that great.

I would have a really hard time losing my wife and we’ve only been married 14 years. Additionally, I’m only 46.
