I'd much rather play nice with people... Take kinger as an example. Once we got passed antagonizing, we get along fine.

I want to talk football without people condescending me because they don't share my beliefs. I don't feel like that is asking a lot.

2.67 MILLION posts on this board over the 10 years. Take away all the poor ones that don't agree with my take and there is still a couple dozen good posts.

This a great place to be, it's become a thriving community.

We just need to try and identify what the underlying issues are and work from there.

I wasn't going to respond, but screw it.

You know, this is pretty rich considering the what three or four or more times I reached out to the mod team in the last six months and asked for advice on how to make things work better, how to deal with the personal attacks I wasn't supposed to respond to, I said that I WAS OPEN TO suggestions and advice. How many times did you respond? Yea, exactly.

I PM'd you and four other mods in the last week of Feb and told you I was thinking of shutting this down and why, including the fact that I had gotten ZERO, zilch, in terms of feedback on the multiple requests of how to go forward. Did you respond to that with any suggestions, feedback, anything? Yea, exactly.

So, I do thank you and have thanked you and the others repeatedly, but save the damn moral indignation.

I don't like framing it as the "wild west" -- that implies that all hell will break loose without a large team of moderators... And I'm suggesting that a community of 200 regular users can pretty easily police itself. Most of the controversies that arise seem to be more centered around the adjudication of an issue moreso than the issue itself.

sounds like they were taking your freedom and the more courageous of you weren't going to stand for it. is that about right?
