Right, and I'm simply saying "he's not that guy," and "he's not that good." Again, just because those options aren't there doesn't mean CK can't be criticized, or I can't be unenthused with him.
And FFS, of course people are. In this thread alone people went "but he IS good," and then ran out how he can be good in a perfect situation or how we've won with bad QB play. That's sort of the point I'm making - ignoring his obvious flaws and talking about how good he is/can be when referring to everything but HIM as a player is slobbing his knob.
When you have to point to everything else but his play, it's not a good sign. We're smart fans - we know his completion percentage was bloated. We know the stats show he sucks at deep ball passing. We know he's a one year wonder. He know he was in a great situation in 'Sota. We know he relied heavily on the run game. We know his own coach doubted him greatly. We know his overall production was underwhelming. We know that QBR and the like favor 'efficient' guys like him and Alex Smith over guys who are asked to do heavy lifting and can't get away with baby passing stats. We all know this.
Or, we should. And THOSE critiques are actually about him, not bullshit like 'well he's good enough to maybe win here.' Great. That doesn't make him good, nor does it mean he can consistently bail us out when the defense falters. THAT'S the point. And it's been consistently missed by his apologists, and that's what's so frustrating.
