The only starting quarterbacks with a worse rating are Rosen and Darnold.
No. You am wrong. Rosen has looked like crap. Darnold is very young so jury is still out on him but so far, so not good. He hasn't leaped into prominence like Pat Mahomes and Desean Watson did. They both looked good immediately, and as soon as they got the starting job, started being really good at it.
That's how you know you have a good QB, because it doesn't take long to see evidence of talent and ability.
But, then there's the "Paxton Path". Start out sucking and looking like you're clueless. Have everybody talk about how raw you are and how much you need to develop. Your "development" is slow. You are beaten out by a 7th round QB of no particular ability. Your development basically stops cold. In your 3rd training camp you are no better than you were at the beginning.
You can start to see that the one guy who will be a star out of this years' QB class is going to be Baker Mayfield. He has real command of the field and game pressure isn't too big for him. Natural leadership. He's going to be good for a long time.
But, the others? Not so much. I'm not totally writing them off in their first year, but so far, they're a lot closer to the Paxton Path than they are the Mayfield path.
And we know Chubb has been phenomenal his rookie year. His development is a lot more rapid than Von's was. You can already see that by his second and third years he's going to terrorize opponents like Von does.
So far, verdict: Chubb over Rosen or Darnold or Allen. And the Broncos could never have gotten Mayfield because Cleveland wouldn't trade that pick.
The only thing about Keenum that’s a “steal” is how he stole $25 million guaranteed from this team.

On this subject I'm sarcasm impaired. It's too painful. I expected a QB decline after Peyton Manning left. Predicted it, wasn't surprised. But, I never thought it would last THIS long or be as apparently hopeless for the future either. THAT I never predicted.
Assuming the Broncos wind up with the 10th overall pick, that is unlikely to help them get the #1 best QB, or even the #2 QB.
If there are only 1 or 2 QBs in the entire draft that anybody likes - seems to be the case next year -- then they will be drafted early as teams that need a QB have such limited options.
There might be no QB worth taking with the tenth or 12th pick, and it will be too hard to move from #12 to #2 to draft a QB so the Broncos will have to draft someone in the second round and hope to develop him. Like they tried to do with Brock Osweiler.
Herbert should go to Jacksonville at 7(current draft order), The Giants will be looking at Lock at pick 10(Current draft order), That leaves Haskins and Jones for rd. 1, still if they declare. Some mocks are starting to have us select Haskins around pick 17, with Jones going in the 20's. In rd. 2 you have Grier and Thorson and perhaps Finely from NC state worth 2nd rd picks. Grier and Thorson have the skill set, experience and Talent to Develop nicely, Not sure how I feel about Finley(I see Alex smith 2.0). Its entirely possible that we can trade up ahead of the giants to snag lock as well. Only 2 maybe 3 teams need a QB besides us in the top 20 picks, and one of those is not even surefire in Oakland. only teams I see above us taking a QB for sure are Jacksonville and The Giants, However there are rumblings Eli is going to get to play another year, so the Giants might wait until rd. 2 for their QB depending on how they feel about Lock.

Is Haskins the OSU guy? God i hope we dont take him....
Yes he is, To be fair he does have a legit skill set, but his lack of experience scares the crap out of me. I'm not a fan, but the kid has talent, he just is raw and inconsistent and raw scares the bejeebus out of me lol. I like Lock, Grier and Thorson personally, but I'm just a message board warrior lol.
