i bet that's a smokescreen. . . we love 225 pound, late round LBs. . . CJ mosley is the only top 'backer we've even been rumored to like since john's been here. . . our FO has never valued the position at all-- doesn't mean that that can't change, of course, but i'm not buying it until i see it. . .

I really like Assassin's draft from the 3rd round on. In round 1, I would deviate to Bradley Chubb.
With addition of Valdheer (sp?) at RT and the mini-breakout of McGovern late last year, plus the
freshman year being behind Bolles, I think the Broncos will actually have a decent line, and they
will have the athletic Case Keenum behind them.

But somebody has to give Von a break. Shaq, while very good against the run, is a fairly good
pass rusher, but they need better than that. Ray is a question mark -- maybe he will, maybe he
won't. The Broncos can't gamble. Passing on Nelson won't be a gamble. Passing on Chubb will.

In round two, I really like Leighton Vander Esch, LB, Boise State. He's big (6'4", 240) and fast
(4.6/40). His numbers last year stand out: 91 solos, 8.5 TFLs, 4 sacks, 2 INTs . . . and he can
cover TEs. He is projected for the 2nd round, so that would be about right.

Add Assassin's selections to those, and I think the Broncos make out like bandits . . .

Vander is a football player through and through; love that guy. He’s the kind of guy you just want on your team. He reminds me of Al Wilson, albeit a less athletic version

    Erroneous!

Vander Esch is every bit as athletic, his only flaw is skin tone.

I can’t abide by the Case Keenum positivity, quite frankly it nullified all the right things said in that post.

Also, the projected OL makes me cringe, Chubb may not be a 34 OLB, McGovern should play C and Vandy won’t make it to 2nd round.

    Sorry.

Anything positive seems to make you cringe.

Love you, anyway, for some reason.

Look at the lbs we’ve been meeting w recently...all early rd guys. That coincides with what vj said and with the inside info we got. Ilb is an early round target!
    The Plan at the moment:

Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).

    Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

When he declared for the draft he was given a 2nd round grade by the committee, so there’s a chance you’re right, but that was before the combine/Pro day.

Does anybody see a white player with 1st round talent getting past the P*triots?

    It’s science.

There are some who still project Vander Esch for the 2nd round.

He may go in 1st, or he may go in 2nd. I'm not going to join in on the predicting.

A good article on him: https://tinyurl.com/ybvcddvk

Wrong. Al Wilson had 4.5 speed. He was a freak
