Default Broncos sign DT Clinton McDonald

I know this is old news at this point, but it seems like this guy deserves his own thread...

They had a good defensive line. They also had/have Gerald McCoy though.
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

They didn’t have any outside pass rush threat and he got 5 in limited time.

He's had numerous five sack seasons, but he's never had a full sixteen game season. http://www.nfl.com/player/clintonmcdonald/89758/profile

It's a fine signing. Yeah, he's on the wrong side of 30, and yeah, big bodies do break down quickly. But, with rotations and relief, he should be just fine. I think this signing will be a nice continuation of Elway's ability to find solid defensive players in their elder years. It's this offseason's Peko signing.

Should be a good rotation/complement to Peko.

If Colorado gets struck by a hurricane, looks like we're set.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.

This was like the Zach Kerr/Peko signings from last year, although this guy is a better pass rusher. We Needed another legit starter caliber player at DT and this was a solid get. With healthy Wolfe, Kerr, Peko and Him I feel better about our DT situation.
    Denver's 2024 George Paton Draft/FA plan

    Draft
    RD1- TE Brock Bowers, GA
    RD3- QB Spencer Rattler, SC
    RD4- CB Josh Newton, TCU
    RD5- S Reggie Pearson, OK
RD5- C Michael Jurgens, Wake Forest
RD6- K Jonah Dalmas, Boise St

    FA

I was thinking about this last night. The Bucs had almost no pass rush at all from the edge and he still managed five sacks from the middle. Not bad.

We always need depth and I like this kind of signing, particularly if Gotsis is suspended.

If Mother Theresa could get pressure up the middle and collapse the pocket, I for one would welcome Mother Theresa with open arms.

Troy Renck: "It's a depth signing. He brings experience, he brings depth to the locker room. And he provides protection in case Gotsis is suspended due to rape allegations. You don't like to go into the draft in desperation at a position. He gives them more than that."

He’s as good of an interior pass rusher as we have on the roster. I’m also guessing his opportunities were limited last year because Tampa played from behind a lot

I was going to say that. With a great food truck guy like that how can they lose?
