We don't need to "build around Keenum" - we need to just build.

That said, if Rosen were to fall to 5 I think we take him.

He's guaranteed 18 mil this year and 7 mil next year. The time to put talent around him is now. Investing that kind of money in a guy that WILL be on your roster for 2 years and then drafting his replacement is something you do if you are an 11-5 team...not a 5-11 team. Especially considering how little else Elway did in FA to improve the team. At this point we'll need to fill almost ALL of the holes in the draft.

Elway can’t assume he’ll have the resources to be picking at the top of the draft next year.

Agreed, but one could make the argument that next years class could be deeper than this years. Patterson, Lock, Stidham, Thorson, Grier...

And one has to assume that other top guys will be mixed in as well.

He has a surplus of draft picks this year, including the #5 pick, that he could trade for additional picks next year. If had could find a way to have 12 picks again, he could package 3 or 4 picks together to move into the top 3.

The shitty part about “building around” anyone is that the likelihood that this coaching staff is here after this year is slim to none (no pun intended). When VJ goes, Musgrave will go and so will the WCO that fits Keenum and probably most of the offensive players we target this draft.

Just try to get the best players, regardless of system or scheme, is probably best. On offense and defense. There’s no guarantee our next DC will be a 3-4 guy, either.

The worst is Cousins, I’m so glad he’s not a $30 M Bronco.

They need to build “in front” of Keenum.

I dont know how accurate this is but it's interesting especially since we haven't signed much anyone else. Are we going to roll over what's left of the rookies for next year?

    Could of just kept Talib!
