Stay at five and get your franchise quarterback. If he's not there, then possibly trade back.
I'm for anything that bring Mayfield to Denver. The kid is the real deal and ran the offense that the Denver coaches were running better than any QB out there. If not Mayfiled at 5 then Hernandez later in the first.
We can't afford to pay more players anyways. I had to watch that load of horseshit last season so gimme what I earned.
The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell
With all the QB desperate teams ,which may or may not include us, it could very well be that at pick 5 we will be left standing at the alter anyway.
Cleveland will certainly take 1 with one of their picks.
Giants may be comfortable just sticking with Eli and may move back to a desperate team or may take their QBotF.
Colts may trade out to a desperate team.
Browns may move the 4th overall to a desperate team.
If we are not willing to pay the price trade up and really want a QB, we may be left with none of the top 4 easily.
In that scenario I would love Barkley.
I will be slightly annoyed if we draft Fitzpatrick at 5 only because I think it would be terribly stupid to cut one of the best CBs on the planet only to draft a rookie CB with the 5th overall pick. That would be very underwhelming IMHO.
Let's Rid3!!!!
I have a hard time calling Fitzpatrick a true corner because he can play all 6 secondary positions at a high level. That being said, it's still addition by subtraction. If Talib's money allows us to fill other areas of need and we can get a stud replacement on a rookie deal...it all works out. That being said, I dont think Fitzpatrick is a bigger need than the other I listed, assuming all were available.
