    Default New post combine Fanspeak

    5: R1P QB*BAKER MAYFIELD OKLAHOMA

Not a lot to be said here. I think we stand Pat and draft the guy who I see as the most NFL ready at this point. His upside isn't nearly what the other top three possess, but you just can't quantify his intangibles and accuracy and the way that his teammates just gravitate to him

    40: R2P8 G*ISAIAH WYNN GEORGIA

Isaiah and James Daniels to me offer the most flexibility schematically and positionally for any of the offensive line prospects. Isaiah could definitely give you some solid reps at right tackle if needed. But solidifies every position along the interior of the line

    71: R3P7 WR*CHRISTIAN KIRK TEXAS A&M

Finally a true game-breaker who actually hangs on to the ball as a returner, and provides immense upside as a slot and possible wide receiver 2 in his future

    99: R3P35 RB*KERRYON JOHNSON AUBURN

Johnson is a three-down running back with tremendous athletic ability. I've never liked the tallish guys that run a little bit too upright, but guys like Dickerson and Bell seem to have been okay with that style. They are also both much bigger than he is. But he is my plan B to Nick Chubb and chubb didn't last in this mock

    106: R4P6 TE*HAYDEN HURST SOUTH CAROLINA

Don't see how Hurst lasts this long but to me even at his age he's the most well-rounded out of all the prospects at tight end this year. I would really like the tight end room if we were able to add him because he's essentially a butt clone

    109: R4P9LB*DARIUS LEONARD S CAROLINA STATE

Every time I watch Leonard play I start to think of a young linebacker that we drafted back in the 90s from Kutztown State. Do I think we can get a John Mobley in the fourth round? Probably not but his athletic ability is undeniable and he has excellent instincts. He would be an instant upgrade on the inside

    142: R5P5 LB*UCHENNA NWOSU USC

This is where some of these online mock systems fall apart because I don't think some of these guys will be available this late but this pick is a no brainer with the potential free agency of Barrett, and still trying to determine what we have with Shane. This kid is extremely athletic, relatively Young to football. And has very nice upside.

    160: R5P23 CB*J.C. JACKSON MARYLAND

I really like what Jackson brings and nastiness. I think he reminds me of a more polished Kayvon Webster,. He will have immediate impact on special teams with the potential to be a solid starter down the line

    163: R5P26 LB*SHAQUEM GRIFFIN UCF

Not even sure that I need to validate this pic. If Griffin where available in v with our 3rd pick and I would jump all over it. He's just a football player. He's got fans on this team already. He would wreak havoc on special teams which is going to be a big deal if we lose guys like Latimer in the offseason. I would hope that someday he could play some sort of hybrid role and impact the game in that way. I just don't think you can overstate his heart. When you combine that with pretty good instincts and above-average athletic ability he would upgrade the inside linebacker position

    182: R6P8 OT*JOSEPH NOTEBOOM TCU

Noteboom is big and athletic and showed really well at the Senior Bowl. I just can't decide what I think about him but it's a low-risk pick in the 6th that could provide decent depth as a swing tackle. I don't know that he ever starts in the NFL but I think he will make a roster this year

    225: R7P7 WR*EQUANIMEOUS ST. BROWN NOTRE DAME

This slotting makes me question the board that I chose. I don't think there's any way st. Brown is available in the 7th. He's another guy that's relatively young to football, extremely athletic and provides massive upside

I like pick 40, 99, 142, and 163. Not sold on Mayfield at all.

Great, another Broncos QB with more gravitational pull than actual talent.

What board did you pick? I used the Fanspeak board and got Nelson and Allen, not going to happen unless Allen gets caught with a duffle bag of weed.

He's got solid Talent. Before the whole process began I was not a fan at all. But there's a reason that universally Scouts and front office people have him pegged in that top for group

I like him enough, I think he’ll be the one to make the transition from spread to pro.

That's an excellent draft which makes me wonder who's shitty draft board allowed you to steal those 3rd day picks. Shaquem, IIRC, had the fastest time of all LBs at the combine which makes me think he'll go much sooner than late in the fifth. I saw St. Brown a few times at Notre Dame and he strikes as this year's guy whom the draftniks love on name alone like that Scooby guy. If he were Joe Brown, he'd be an undrafted free agent.

    He’ll go in the 2nd or 3rd, mostly because he’s 6-5/214 with 4.4 speed. He’s underrated.

    From NFL.com:

    http://www.nfl.com/draft/2018/profil...own?id=2560203

    Draft Projection
    Rounds 3-4
    NFL Comparison
    Andre Holmes
    Bottom Line

St. Brown's combination of size and speed will be coveted by offenses looking for a prospect who can create throwing windows down the field with his ability to separate as the route progresses. St. Brown's competitive nature needs to improve as does his play strength to elude early pressure from physical cornerbacks. He has never been a volume target and has just three 100-yard games in his career. At this stage, St. Brown is more of a threat than a weapon and his ceiling may be an average starter or WR3.

I use the latest NFL mock board I'm not sure if that's the NFL.com board or who It's associated with. But I found most of these boards to be a little bit inconsistent with their placement

If he were a “weapon” at this stage he’d be a sure fire 1st round pick.

I like how you only quoted the part that support your opinion.

Damn, you're ignorant. Most draft profiles feature "strengths", "weaknesses" and a summary or "bottom line". I posted the bottom line which is supposed to be an objective summation of what to expect from the prospect. But, just to show you I was being fair, here is the weaknesses portion I left out:

    Weaknesses

Competitiveness feels optional for him at times. Needs to play with more consistent urgency. Struggles with physical cornerbacks. Crowded and harassed by North Carolina's M.J. Stewart and finished with just one catch. Routes and stems are rounded. Needs to do better at disguising route breaks. Doesn't create as much downfield separation as he could with better route leverage. Doesn't extend to pluck and allows throws to get into him. Hand strength is below average. Has catches that turn into drops due to lack of hand strength through contact. Body positioning and ball adjustments down the field are just OK.

Love Johnson at RB and others you got but some of those names I don't see lasting that long.
