According to Mort, whenever you give a player guaranteed money, even if that money is spread out over several years, the team has to immediately put that entire amount into escrow, and apparently the raiders are a little cash strapped and might not be able to afford that. Makes the gruden contact all the more hilarious.

Total dopes. I bet they screw up Vegas. I know that is impossible, but they will find a way.

Gruden or McKenzie got all in their feelings. Mack is now a Bear.

Can't say I'm happy with this move but we won't know for years if this works or not.

I root for weirdos and I accept that.

So, do you think this was about Mack being upset, or the Raiders just not having the cash to rework his deal? This makes no sense to me. Mack is one of the 4-5 best defensive players in the game and he’s still got tread left on the tires. This reeks of Grudens ego, from afar.

I'll answer this as soon as I find out what they got in the deal.

Not the emotional response I was fishing for.

    Nevertheless you’re right.

To be honest I don't know what this was. But I know what it wasn't: smart.

Khalil Mack and the Bears just reached agreeement on a record-setting 6-year, $141 million extension ($23.5M per year avg) that includes $90M guaranteed and $60M at signing, source tells ESPN. Mack is the new highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

You're welcome. Hopefully we can improve on our 9-15 divisional record that we had with him.
