sorry, slick. . .
If Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is on the trade block, he wants some degree of say in where he’s going.
And it seems that where he wants to go is New England.
According to Mike Klis of KUSA, the Broncos are actively shopping Talib, talking to a number of teams including the Patriots. And while he theoretically has no say in the process, he could also offer enough resistance to make another team hesitant to acquire him if they think he isn’t going to play along.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...r-mill/page/2/The Broncos are hoping to move him by the start of the league year next Wednesday.
R.I.P. NoFlyZone. . . it sure was fun while it lasted. . .
As of Wednesday at 4, the top 53 salaries combined have to be under the cap, so I'm guessing they don't think they can sign Cousins and have Talib on the roster as they work through other renegotiations. So, someone needs to go before Wednesday, and that person is apparently Talib. That surprises me a little, because I thought Denver had the room to sign and then adjust, but maybe not.
It's the same reason Seattle is agreeing to trade Bennett and want to trade Sherman, and the Chiefs agreed to trade Alex Smith pre start of the league year. They want the cap cleared before free agency starts, so all those trades will be made official right at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
i feel like it's about more than cap space, and they just want him gone at this point. . . IMO, it has a lot to do with that pathetic loser VJ, and his inability to handle big personalities in the locker room. . .
I know I do that, but I don’t think I’m doing that in this scenario. Im basing my speculation off articles I’ve read pertaining to the turmoil both players have created in the locker room, specifically the rift between the offense and defense, which Peter Carrol has reportedly grown tired of
Well...if we take our orange glasses off and look at the business perspective, it makes a lot of sense to release Talib. And not just for a run at Cousins. What if his salary could get us an Aaron Colvin and Demario Davis? Then we'd still have a solid trio of corners while improving our ILB spot. Just one example, but I prefer to improve the team as a whole rather than have the #1 secondary on the 27th best team.
