Jets just traded up to 3. Not looking good if we want to take a QB

The Jets traded up and didn't give away too much...

On the flip it makes our signing of Keenum more valuable. Now there are at least 2 QBs drafted in front of us, maybe 3 (or even 4 if some team gets desperate and trades with Cleveland)... Means we could have our pick of most positions at 5. But yeah, this was the danger of going with someone like McCown, that you then get jumped by teams who know you're drafting a QB - so I feel a little better about not going that route.

3 2nd round picks to move up 3 slots is not that much?

Didn't other teams in the past give up first rounders to move up for a QB?

Probably, but they probably needed to move more than 3 slots... I'm not saying they overpaid - just that it doesn't seem particularly cheap to me. 2nd rounders are pretty valuable, especially coming from either of these crap teams.

The most interesting thing here is that Chubb to Indy seemed like a foregone conclusion. I think he probably still goes ahead of us, but that'd be an interesting decision if he was there at 5.

What did Chicago give up to move up one slot?

I thought they gave up a first rounder the following year as well. I was mistaken, your point is well taken, and I concur with you.

Sure glad they got those two “Feel good about yourselves” wins late in the wasted season. Those cost Denver the 2nd pick in the draft and probably saved VJ’s job.

That Colts win in particular looks pretty painful right now
