More to the point, do you think the Colts would let him HIRE ASSISTANTS if he told them he was still mulling it over? Come on man, use just a little common sense here.

Yes they did, but as someone else mentioned this has happened previously in the NFL, NBA, college, etc. Similarly, are you aware of any situations where a couple send out "Wedding Announcements" but don't actually get married? I'm not denying that the Colts thought McD had accepted or was going to accept the job, but I haven't seen ANY reports stating that McD expressly told the Colts that he had or was accepting the job. Everything I have seen and read states that the Colts thought or believed he was accepting the job. I will admit however, that I haven't read every article or piece.

How or why would Mcd hire assitant coaches, call them up etc if he was not operating under the guise that he is going to be the new HC.
I swear to god anything that is remotely negative to anything patriots and the entire pats fanbase turns into a bunch of women arguing for the sake of arguing despite knowing full well they are 100% wrong in everyones eyes. Everyone. Not just the people they are arguing with, but everyone.
This is why America hates the patriots. For this simple reason alone. Nothing else. Just the BS they pull and their insufferable fans.

The Plan at the moment:
Draft: Trade a 3rd and 6th this year to a team to move up and get a 2nd next year (this will happen).
Players I want:
Jake Ferguson (Jake Butt) or Jelani Woods or Jeremy Ruckert or Cade Otten (owen daniels) at TE- All 4th rd or later.
Troy Anderson LB 3rd/4th rd (yay Timmy!)
Neil Farrell, JR DL- run stuffer- bye purcell

Well we know that the same agent represented both Ballard and McD, so it is possible the agent gave some indication to Ballard that McD was accepting the job. Not saying that is what happened, I'm merely pointing out the possibility. If that happened, however, that might explain why the agent was upset and terminated his representation of McD.

Yes and if it merely came down to that no harm, no foul... But he uprooted real people and real families who believed that they were accepting a new job to work for Josh in Indy...
Now they have signed contracts and are stuck in limbo wondering if they will have a job with their new boss. These are guys who could have presumably accepted jobs elsewhere, but were loyal to Josh... Then he hung them out to dry without so much as a courtesy call.
C'mon, what's your next argument? This is like shooting fish in a barrel.
I don't deny that McD screwed the Colts. I clearly understand why Broncos fans hate McD and he may actually be an assh*le, dick, douche etc. Although I have clearly done a terrible job of establishing my position and purpose, I'm neither taking a position on the type of person McD is nor trying to defend or justify his actions because I have NO idea what he said or indicated to the Colts. I'm merely playing devil's advocate by pointing out that despite the Salem witch trial rush to judgment of a number of posters, NONE of us truly know what was said or indicated between the Colts and McD. All we can do is speculate and engage in conjecture based on circumstantial evidence and/or the self-serving statements of Ballard, the Colts and McD.

See, this is just pure bullshit. We do know what he told the Colts, because they announced him as their head coach, hired assistants and scheduled a press conference. We know exactly what he told them and it was clearly 'yes.' There is, literally, no other interpretation of those events.
