This is amazing. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this in my life. I think Nomad nailed it. He wants the patriots.

Default McDaniels decided to stay put with no promises or commitments from Patriots

So why did Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels decide to remain with the Patriots? It’s not because head coach Bill Belichick is retiring (he isn’t), and it’s not because the Patriots have promised to make McDaniels the successor to Belichick whenever he walks away (they haven’t).

Ultimately, McDaniels simply decided to stay put.

Some will say that McDaniels had concerns about the health of quarterback Andrew Luck. The more accurate reality is that McDaniels had concerns about working with owner Jim Irsay.

PFT had heard in recent days that McDaniels did indeed have those concerns, but that efforts were made to persuade McDaniels to make the leap of faith. He did so reluctantly, and then he didn’t. And now, as one source put it to PFT, there will be a “major storm of sh-t” over this one.

They are ALL shit bags in New England... You're telling me that Bob Kraft couldn't have made his best offer to keep McDaniels weeks or months ago? McDaniels couldn't have expressed his cold feet before stringing them along and letting all of these other vacancies get filled?

What a bunch of self interested, win-at-all-costs, *****.

Just when you thought New England stock couldn't get any lower, that public perception couldn't possibly be any worse - they go and do something like this.

Well, Belichick did it to the Jets...
*The statements above are my opinions, unless they are links, because then they are links, which wouldn't make them my opinions, and I suppose stats aren't necessarily opinion, but they are certainly presented to support an opinion. Proceed accordingly.

Seems pretty obvious to me - Kraft has had his world view altered on his team over the last month -- saw that the end of the dynasty is much nearer than he ever imagined, got cold feed, had second thoughts, and sweetened his offer and McDaniels after the Super Bowl. McDaniels figured, what's a few more burned bridges if he can ascend to head hoodie someday?

...But along those lines, I still don't understand the timing:

I get your point, but it wasn't quite the same. He actually was the HC for a full day.

Similar though, so I'll take my incredulity back. This is old hat.

Exactly. There is no way to view this other than he's a douche that screwed the Colts over, pretty big. There's no defending McDouche here.

And I would totally buy that, but the reports are that Kraft offered him nothing.

Oh..what am I thinking... that would mean that the pats are being forthcoming, transparent, and honest about this.

You could maybe even defend his screwing over Irsay in favor of Kraft - but to just leave so many other people hung out to dry is really borderline criminal.

If there was any doubt in anyones mind that McDaniels is a ****head then just look at this at this latest incident.

I hope Bill retires soon bc if McDaniels takes over then the Pats are SCREWED! Lulzzz
