This is so Belichick can take his dream job, coaching West Point.
I miss the old Mile High Stadium.
rest - http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2...gland-patriotsAfter two days of reflection and conversations with the Patriots, New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has decided not to accept the Indianapolis Colts' head-coaching job, league sources told ESPN.
In the past 48 hours, Patriots owner Robert Kraft began talking with McDaniels and ultimately wound up sweetening his contract, helping to entice McDaniels to remain in New England rather than leave for Indianapolis, which had announced it would be holding a news conference Wednesday to introduce its new head coach. However, McDaniels did not have a signed contract with the Colts, according to a source.
But this wasn't a decision about money. The truth is, McDaniels has been vacillating on this decision throughout the interview process, ever since meeting with the Colts on wild-card weekend. It is the reason a second meeting with Colts officials and team owner Jim Irsay was held. McDaniels was trying to get comfortable with the idea of taking his family out of New England and moving to Indianapolis, sources said.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...e-their-coach/The Colts announced on Tuesday afternoon that a press conference with their new head coach Josh McDaniels would be held on Wednesday afternoon.
We heard that McDaniels would not be their new head coach on Tuesday evening and the Colts confirmed it a bit later. The team released a statement that cancelled both that press conference and the end of their coaching search.
“After agreeing to contract terms to become the Indianapolis Colts’ new head coach, New England Patriots assistant coach Josh McDaniels this evening informed us that he would not be joining our team,” the team said in a statement. “Although we are surprised and disappointed, we will resume our head coaching search immediately and find the right fit to lead our team and organization on and off the field. The scheduled press conference at Lucas Oil Stadium will not take place tomorrow. More information will be forthcoming.”

Buff, Davii, dogfish, Dreadnought, Tbolt
He won't get a job anywhere else after pulling that move.
Wonder if Bill is being forced out.
This is just odd. He must have gotten some sort of assurances from the Pats.
Josh McDaniels proved he hasn't changed. He agreed to become the coach and the Colts had even put assistant coaches he wanted under contract only to have him go back on his word and leave another team in a bad position.
What a shitbag. Man of his word? Yeah, right. Nobody should ever trust him again. Outside of New England I think he just destroyed his chance of being a HC again.
