    Default Hey WTE

I seem to remember you telling me that the Patriots being in this super bowl would keep ratings high when many of us said we wouldn't watch the game. What happened?

    http://deadline.com/2018/02/super-bo...bc-1202278181/
With 103.4 million watching, last night’s game on NBC from Minneapolis is down 7% from the total set of network eyeballs from the 2017 Super Bowl. A steeper fall than even the declining the stock market today, that’s the worst the Super Bowl has done since 2009 when the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-23 defeat of the Arizona Cardinals scored 98.7 million viewers.

Is this trolling for a answer?

    Nice spin.

How many of those ahead of it were Super Bowls in the last 10 years?

You know exactly why ratings were down for this SB.

    * Cord Cutting
    * NFL Ratings were down 10% this season
    * You went to the movies, Weazel went skiing and Davii went for a motorcycle ride

But you told me none of that would matter and ratings would still be as high as ever.

How much do you think ratings would have dropped if it was PHI vs JAX? More or less than 7%?

It was glorious. I didn't ride near as long as I wanted to because it was raining, so I came back home and worked in the garage for a while. It was a nice Sunday.

Less. I think more people would've been excited to see a game where we were guaranteed a first time SB champion. I honestly believe the two main factors in the precipitous drop was A) everyone is tired of the Patriots and B) the people who are boycotting NFL games for whatever reason.

Cord cutting was a factor last year as well, it cannot be blamed for a 7% drop in one year.

Yeah, had it been the Jags, I would have watched every second of it.

I most likely would have as well. I certainly would have watched SOME of it. I watched precisely none of the game this past Sunday and specifically because of the Patriots.

I "might" have watched if it were the Jags.

I just looked online on occasion for the score in this one.

It soundslike it was a leisurely Sunday, one in which you could have responded to my text. 🤨

Yes, but you would have been in the minority. Jacksonville probably has one of, if not the smallest fan bases in the NFL. Heck they usually don't even sell out their home games. How many years in a row have the Jags played a home game in Britain because their owners know they are guaranteed at least one "home" sellout?
Too bad she doesn't cheer for the Patriots dressed like this
