Bare functional hips, marginal size, short arms, no power, cinderblocks feet, can’t pick A-gaps, gets bull-rushed/trucked and snaps over the QB’s head didn’t help either.

He's healthy now, marginal size, enough power and speed, productive, has little support around him.

He's one of the better centers in the game. He's essentially Jeff Saturday.

Not if you take them at 5.

No, you then just have to pay them even more later, while avoiding the real issue of QB. Or, you can take the young QB, and build a real team around him while taking advantage of his cheap cost...while having a QB.

This is why I used to hit you before I abdicated.

Five years with an All-Pro under a rookie contract, my kind of gamble.

and then you pay the guard tackle money when every single offseason you can normally find good guards in FA. But hey, I'm a #NelsonNerd now.

Not necessarily, you can franchise tag him at a slightly lower number for a couple years. It’s not like they have to worry about not saving the tag for someone else.

This is a great way to look at it when we don't take the obvious QB that we could do this exact same thing to.

Valid point, sure when you put it that way it sounds bad.

I just hope the guard being 'that good' actually makes a demonstrative impact. Because I've seen great lines do nothing because the QB is trash.
