Good news is Broncos can juggle Cousins/Keenum bids as free agency opens. Maybe, McCarron, too. Bad news is Vikings would be top competition for Cousins if they want to go there. #9sports

The #Vikings are not expected to franchise tag QB Case Keenum and he’s slated to hit free agency, per sources with knowledge of the team’s thinking. Barring a change of heart, Minnesota joins the fray for a starting QB… and will make these next few weeks fascinating.
Why would the Vikings let the Great Case Keenum hit the open market? Bold strategy, Cotton.

Probably. While Stewart excelled at FS, he wasn't as good at SS, where he moved when Simmons
began to start. In fact, he struggled at times. I think what the Broncos like about Cravens is his size.
The defense seems so much better when the SS can fill a hole on the DL like a linebacker, and
    Cravens can.

Cravens played LB in college and is about the same size as Corey Nelson, bigger than Zaire Anderson. It’s not a given that Cravens would be a S, a role like TJ Ward makes a ton of sense. I wouldn’t write Stewart’s obituary yet.

Can he cover a TE? That’s all that’s important at this point. I’m so tired of it being the defense’s Achilles heel.

Supposedly the answer is yes, which is probably a big reason we’re interested in him

Could also be an excuse to part ways with Stewart

All the other options mentioned (keenum and McCarron) are not good options. We're going to need to draft a QB at pick #5.
Here's where we differ, I think that Elway is the reason we might land him. He convinced Peyton when there were better options, and I think he can convince Cousins. If we're close to as good an option as Minnesota I think Elway can sway him and convince him this is where he wants to be. Elway has definitely shown some failings as of late, but he's still John Elway, and I just don't think Spielman can match up there. John has the ring as a GM to show he knows what he's talking about and can do it again.

It's possible you are right, but I'm still prepping for either Mayfield or Rosen to be our QB. It's going to take another 4th quarter miracle from Elway to pull this off.

Then again, I don't know what to believe as true anymore...

"He (Rick Spielman) told me that they want to make a decision by March 14...That tells me they are leaning toward re-signing one of the guys they have. I don't think they are going to sign a stranger to the team sight unseen."

They like Sam Bradford over Keenum reportedly. So they could just re-sign Bradford if they can't land Cousins or don't want to, and then they could draft a QB at the end of the 1st round and develop him.

Bradford is only 30 BTW and they know more about his medical history than outsiders.

That could simply mean Bradford. They appear ready to let Bridgewater go.

According to his scouting reports he’s mostly great in coverage.
