Default Kc open to trading smith

The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Tennessee Titans, 22-21, in Saturday's AFC wild-card playoff game with quarterback Alex Smith under center -- one of the game's most underrated players despite holding the league's top quarterback rating.

And yet, the Chiefs are open to trading Smith this offseason, sources said, thanks in part to one of the most fervent quarterback markets in recent memory.

Kansas City won't actively seek out trade partners, but they will listen. There is a real chance Smith, who's set to make $17 million next season, will be dealt for the second time in his career. When asked by reporters Saturday if he wanted to return to Kansas City next season, Smith said, "Yeah, are you kidding me?"

I do not want him. From the sounds of the Talib interview last week, it seems like our defense doesn't really respect him as an opponent either. If he's not respected by guys who study his tape extensively, it's not a good idea to go get him.

He just threw for over 4k yards, and damn near 30 TD's with a bad line.

He's going to have to want to play big boy football and not that game manager bullshit; if that's the case, then let that man come and play football here if Cousins doesn't want to roll through.

He's down the list of what I would want, but I would take him over the 3 chuckleheads we have at QB today if given the choice.

He's pretty much at the top of my wishlist, once you factor in what Cousins would cost us. Cousins > Smith, but not $10 Million better, at a minimum

Yeah the more I think about it as far as FA I would go Cousins>Smith> then any leftovers from Minnesota's QB stable. Regardless I hope we can find a good QB in the draft to groom.

Smith would be great for that role. Cousins = long term. Great play or not.

Tyrod Taylor is another name worth considering. He's solid, and will likely be affordable.

    There are options, my brothers!

I would take any of our three existing stiffs over Tyrod Taylor. he is simply dreadful

He's pretty effective considering what he has around him, and puts up more than passable numbers.

TS has no talent and was only in the league out of a fluke. He's barely a backup.

Brock is the epitome of average, although I could stomach him as a starter.

Lynch is a very talented player but has never put any of it together. There's a small kernel of hope that I have for him, but it's very, very finite. TT would just be a stopgap.

Dread, I want Darnold or Rosen, or Cousins. Use your powers. Make this happen.

    Boo this, man!

I love you. I don’t love Taylor in a Broncos uniform

It wouldn't hurt my feelings for Taylor to be a stop gap.

Not a sexy signing but he is solid. Accurate, doesn't turn it over and can make plays with his feet.

He improved. Unlikely, but he did.
