We really just need him to not regress. And the rest of the (new) coaching staff to put together a plan to maximize player strengths. As opposed to, you know, sticking their heads up their ass and forcing system over skillset like last year.

Regression is only possible if you are starting from somewhere north of rock bottom.

I really think he is the reason we accepted the Senior Bowl coaching option. Yes, it gives us a deeper look at some serious positions of need, but I also think it keeps him coaching and learning how to coach. That being said...if we miss the playoffs in 2018...he's gone.

The most frustrating thing is that we could have had our pick of coaches. Our team finished with a better record than any of the other teams looking for a head coach post 2016 season and actually ended up worse than all those teams last year. Worse than anthony lynn. Worse than the freaking Niners. And worse than the rams. When you look at how much McVay and Shanny especially improved their offenses it really stings
