Missy and i started to hit the gym Tuesday evening to try and work on the flab. My progress is going very well as im now down to 279. Its the first time in probably 15 years that i have been under 300. Hard to believe just 6 months ago i was 363. Im excited and feel so much better than i did and am going to continue to work to get even more weight off.

    Wait. You were 363 lbs?

    Holy shit.

Kidding aside, I'm happy for you, dude. Keep up the good fight.

Just an update on myself, i have now lost a total of 100 lbs and am still working at it. Down to 263 with my "first" goal weight to be around 230. We hit the gym about 2-3 times a week so hopefully i can get some more off before MDF this year but the change has already helped my joints in the knees and my back issues. I feel much better as well so far so good.

I quit drinking sodas about 7 months ago. My substitute is ice tea. I used a Kerrig coffee maker but I just run it by the cup solo style. Its super easy and fast. You can mix it up by using different flavors like Sassafras, peach or what you like. Use one normal tea bag and one flavored one or just plain. Then once brewed I melt the sweetener in the hot cup, I don't do sugar. Get a large cup of ice fill it 3/4 with water and then add the freshly brewed ice tea and boom you're done. It's really helped my soda addiction.

I still need my caffeine fix so coffee and tea it is. But I also cut way back on coffee, only in the morning for me.

Don't get me wrong, I wish I could drink soda without the consequences. It is terrible for us, basically poison.

What is worse, soda or alcohol/beer? I would think soda.

Congrats on the progress, North. Keep up the great work. Good thing you are hitting the gym.

While I drink diet coke now and then, I'm mostly just an unsweet tea guy. Sometimes making it at home, but recently my wife found a great brand in the store they sell by the gallon, Milo.
